Meet Gedion Nyanhongo, an extraordinary artist exhibiting at the Celebration of Fine Art in Scottsdale, Arizona, for the 16th year.
Gedion is a sculptor. Even though I've seen him in action for the last five years while attending the show, I never mustered the courage to introduce myself, let alone ask if I could take his picture.
When asked, "May I take your picture," Gedion said, "No."
Turns out he was testing me. I failed, thinking he was one of the sixty percent who answered "No."
He lit up with a warm smile, knowing he got me. And we laughed. I stood there watching him do his magic, lost in time, the quintessential artist who never thinks about everyday stuff like retiring.
Nope. This dude is living the dream of every artist at this show, crushing it even when there's little traffic or few transactions.
Artists focus on process, not outcome. It's the essence of every flow state: a timeless, blissful existence.
What's your dream?
In closing, check out Gedion's website here. Here's how he defines his art ...
"My sculptures focus on the things that collectively make up the bigger picture ā life, love, and the sensations that define us all. They celebrate love ā especially family love, and the spiritual power it provides to promote peace through my art."
